Ireland was on my travel bucket list for years before I finally went earlier this summer. I have to say, the country deserves its hype. After exploring Ireland's small towns, countryside, rolling hills, green valleys, and tiny islands off the mainland, I'm convinced this country is a legitimate fairy-tale wonderland.
Here's why I think so:
1. Kylemore Abbey is definitely a home of fairies and princesses.

Okay, so maybe Kylemore Abbey is technically the historical home of Benedictine nuns who fled Belgium during World War I—but I like to think otherwise.
2. The Aran Islands are obviously a place where elves secretly live.

Home of 1,200 Irish people? Maybe, but we know you're hiding elves under those thatched roofs, Ireland.
3. This beach obviously has superpowers.

To transport you to Greece! Oh, you say it's really a beach on Inishmore island facing the Atlantic? It's clearly the Mediterranean!
4. Everyone knows Guinness in Ireland is really a magic potion.

Because how else can the same beer taste so, so, different here?
5. You can't visit the Cliffs of Moher without believing in magic.

Natural formations caused over millions of years and made up of layer upon layer of hardened sand, silt and mud? Nah!
5. The village of Cong is for sure a place for fairies.

Filming location for John Ford's 1952 Oscar-winning film, The Quiet Man featuring John Wayne? I think real life location of fairy homes!
6. This Inishmore donkey definitely has unicorn friends.

You can't live in an idyllic field by the sea without inviting a few jealous unicorns.
7. Connemara is definitely the playground for wizards.

This place screams fantasy movie set.
8. The Burren seems like a place to park your dragon.

Fossils have been found here, from when the area was in a tropical sea 350 million years ago. Actually dragon fossils? Probably.
9. A fairy godmother was here at some point, I'm sure.

These ruins are among many in Ireland that seem so magical!
10. But seriously, Ireland, where are you hiding the fairies?
